It looks like we are getting closer to the release of the new BlackBerry Passport smartphone, the handset has already received FCC approval, and now it has also received GCF (Global Certification Forum) approval.
The BlackBerry Passport is listed on the GCF as the ‘PassPort’, so it could be possible that the device will be launched as the BlackBerry PassPort.
So far we have heard a number of specifications on this new BlackBerry smartphone, the device comes with a 4.5 inch display that will have a resolution of 1440 x 1440 pixels.
The display on the handset is square, and underneath it is a three row QWERTY keyboard, processing will come in the form of a quad core Snapdragon 801 processor with a clock speed of 2.5GHz, and the handset will also come with 3GB of RAM and 32gB of built in storage.
The new BlackBerry Passport will also feature front and rear facing cameras, the front camera has been confirmed to be a 3.7 megapixel model, the rear camera has yet to be confirmed, although we would expect it to be at least 8 megapixels.
According to the guys over at N4BB, it looks like the new BlackBerry Passport smartphone could possibly launch on the 12th of September, this date has yet to be confirmed by BlackBerry, as soon as we get some more information, we will let you guys know.
