Not too long ago, Blackberry officially unveiled the budget-friendly Blackberry Z3 Jakarta at a press event, which for now, is exclusively available in Indonesia with a sub-$200 price tag.
It was not just the Blackberry Z3, the company’s CEO also shed some light on the future plans of the Canadian OEM. According to a report, Blackberry is working on a few more devices, some of them come with full touch while a few of them comes with a QWERTY keyboard.
Chen didn’t reveal a lot of details about the handsets, but did say that one of them is a “flagship material.” Can this new mysterious flagship device help the company boost the sales figures? Only time will tell as it’s still a few months away. As for the device, there are quite a lot of possibilities here, but let’s just avoid a lot of speculation for now, and wait for more information to pop up.
John Chen also revealed more details about the company’s plans for the near future. While most manufacturers are gearing up to enter the wearables market, Blackberry currently have no intention to target this segment and will focus on the consumer mobile market for now — even tablets are not in the pipeline.
This will be interesting, the company has so far managed to keep its devices a secret, but for how long? Only time will tell. Let’s see what the company has in store, and if it will be good enough to turn the tides for the Canadian manufacturer.
