Cyclists might be interested in a new and innovative bike security device called the Bike+ Tracker which has been created to provide an affordable tracker for your two wheeled vehicle. Similar to that provided by the Find My iPhone service for smartphones.
The new Bike+ Tracker device was showcased as part of Verizon‘s Innovation Centers initiative which allows small businesses to bring connected products to life.
Using the Verizon network for communication the innovative Bike+ Tracker device will help you keep a tab on your bike and prevent it from being stolen. The new device has been created by a small team of designers based in Santa Clara, CA from the company Wi-MM which stands for “wireless machine-to-machine”.
The Bike+ BPU-100 Tracker hardware consists of a plastic plate which is attached to your bike using anti-tamper screws which is then connected to its companion application which can be loaded onto either your Android or iOS device.
Once enabled any time your bike is moved out of the area you have set you will be sent a notification and the concentration will be constantly shown on your smartphone application. Sensitivity within the system can be adjusted using the smartphone application to reduce the likelihood of false notifications.
