We know that the new Asus Transformer Prime tablet will go on sale in December, although we haven’t had an exact date from Asus as yet, and now it would appear that the world’s first Tegra 3 powered Android 4.0 tablet could launch on the 8th of December.
Online retailer Newegg has put the Transformer Prime up for pre-order on their site, and they are quoting a release date of the 8th of December 2011, although this date has yet to be confirmed by Asus.
Features and Specifications
The Asus Transformer Prime is generating a lot of excitement, and for good reason. This tablet is the first to feature Nvidia’s Tegra 3 quad-core processor, which promises to deliver unprecedented performance and efficiency. The Tegra 3 chip, also known as Kal-El, is designed to offer improved multitasking, faster web browsing, and better gaming experiences compared to its predecessors. Additionally, the Transformer Prime will run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which brings a host of new features and improvements to the Android platform.
The tablet boasts a 10.1-inch Super IPS+ display with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels, providing vibrant colors and wide viewing angles. It also includes an 8-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls. The Transformer Prime comes with 1GB of RAM and will be available in 32GB and 64GB storage options, with a microSD card slot for expandable storage.
Design and Build Quality
One of the standout features of the Asus Transformer Prime is its sleek and stylish design. The tablet is incredibly thin, measuring just 8.3mm in thickness, and it weighs only 586 grams, making it one of the lightest tablets in its class. The device features a brushed aluminum finish, giving it a premium look and feel. The Transformer Prime also includes a detachable keyboard dock, which not only provides a physical keyboard for typing but also extends the battery life of the tablet up to 18 hours.
The keyboard dock includes a touchpad, USB ports, and an SD card reader, making it a versatile accessory for users who need to get work done on the go. The tablet itself has a mini HDMI port, allowing users to connect it to an external display for presentations or media playback.
As soon as we get some official confirmation from Asus on exactly when the Transformer Prime will be available we will let you guys know.
