An awesome Arduino handheld game console has been created by Thingiverse member “serisman” was kindly published the required 3D printing files to the website enabling you to build your very own Arduboy compatible 8-bit handheld Arduino game platform.
The PCB for the electronics has been published to be PCBWay website and when compared to the original Arduboy you version provides a larger 2.42″ OLED screen and a built-in SPI flash IC. Enabling users to carry hundreds of games in their pocket without the need to re-program the MCU from another device.
“ArduBigBOY is an Arduboy compatible game platform for those with big boy pants. It provides a larger 2.42″ OLED screen and a built-in SPI flash IC to support carrying around hundreds of games in your pocket without having to re-program the MCU from another device. In addition to the larger OLED screen and built-in SPI flash IC, the ArduBigBOY also provides a larger 700mAh lithium-ion cell, a hardware mute switch, and an expansion header that breaks out almost every one of the ATmega32U4 IC’s pins. This allows for future expansion options like linking two Arduboys together via serial UART connection, connecting external sensors and devices through i2c or SPI, connecting to an external speaker, or attaching an external controller.”
