The iPhone X only launched on Friday, we have already seen a teardown of the handset and now we have a torture test video of Apple’s new iPhone. In the video from JerryRigEverything we get to see Apple’s new iPhone put through a number of durability tests.
The first test is a scratch test for Apple’s iPhone X and lets see how the handsets compares to devices like the iPhone 8, the Google Pixel 2 and Samsung Galaxy Note 8.
As we can see from the video the device performed well in the scratch test and the display is not going to easily scratch with your keys or coins. It scratched at a level 6 and 7 which is on par with other flagship devices. It looks like Apple has used the same glass for the back of the handset as the front.
The burn test left a permanent mark on the display of the iPhone X, this is similar to some of the other flagship devices that have been tested. The handset also performed well in the bend test with no screen separation. The device performed well in the durability tests.
The only main issue with the device in terms of damage is the glass back, if you break this then it is going to cost a massive $549 to get this repaired. Apple charges $279 for a screen replacement and $549 for any other repairs.
