The FBI are attempting to get Apple to create software for the iPhones that would allow them unlock an iPhone used by the San Bernardino terrorist, there is a court case going on at the moment, and Apple does not want to create the software as it would essentially be a backdoor into any iPhone.
Now according to a recent report, Apple is working on improved security for iPhones that would make the devices impossible to hack and even Apple would not be able to unlock the devices.
Apple is currently challenging the court order against it to unlock the iPhone and if they did manage to create security on their handsets which even they could not bypass, then they could avoid situations like this in the future.
The FBI previously said that this was a one of case to get the iPhone of a terrorist unlocked, although that is not exactly true, as there are another 12 court orders in the process attempting to get Apple to unlock iPhones.
It will be interesting to see if Apple is able to create a new type of unhackable security for their iOS devices, as this would help the company keep their strong privacy stance that they have for their customers.
What the will be the outcome of the court case between Apple and the FBI remains to be seen, at the moment, neither side appears to be backing down.
