The last thing we heard about the new Apple Watch 2 was that the device would not launch until the fall of 2016.
Apple will apparently release some new watch band and watchOS 2.2 at their press event in March, but we will have to wait until later in the year to see the second generation smartwatch.
Now according to a recent report, Apple may start mass production of their second generation Watch in quarter 2 of 2016.
Production of the device will be done by Quanta who manufacture the original Apple Watch for the company, apparently Apple will not use a second manufacturer to make the device.
The news that production of the device will start in quarter two come from a report from Digitimes who have apparently received information from Apple’s supply chain.
Apple are expected to add a number of new features to their second generation Apple Watch, this will apparently include a built in FaceTime camera and also WiFi. The device is also expected to get a new processor and more RAM.
We are no expecting the design of the second generation Apple Watch to change significantly from the first one, the company is expected to do what it does with the iPhone and iPad and use the same design for two product cycles.
