As well as the new iOS 11.1 software update, Apple also released a new update for the Mac, macOS 10.13.1. The update also brings a new version of Apples iTunes to the Mac, iTunes 12.7.1. The latest version of macOS bring the same new emoji that the iPhone received in the latest iOS update.
There are now more than 70 new emoji available in the Mac, these include animals, food, mythical creatures and more. The iTunes 12.71 update is a minor one with some performance improvements and bug fixes. The update also comes with a range of security fixes for Apple’s macOS software.
Here is what is included in the new macOS 10.13.1 software update:
- Adds support for 70 new emoji including new food types, animals, mythical creatures, clothing options, more expressive smiley faces, gender-neutral characters, and more
- Fixes a bug where Bluetooth may be unavailable during Apple Pay transactions
- Improves the reliability of Microsoft Exchange message sync in Mail
- Fixes an issue where Spotlight may not accept keyboard input
You can download the latest version of macOS from the Mac App Store. The update also fixes the KRACK WiFi security issue that we heard about previously. The iTunes 12.7.1 software update is also available to download from the Mac App Store.
