Apple has released a new update for the iPhone and iPad, iOS 11.2.2 and the update is designed to patch the Spectre security vulnerability that we have been hearing about over the last week. The update has been released as an over the air update for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
The iOS 11.2.2 update is available for the iPhone 5S and above, the iPad Air and above and the sixth generation iPod Touch.
You can check to see if the update is available for your device by going to Settings > General > Software update. The update should be available for your device as of now.
Apple also released a new software update for the Mac, macOS High Sierra 10.13.2 which is now available to download for your Mac. This update also fixes the same Spectre security vulnerability on the Mac.
It is recommended that you update all of your devices to the latest software in order to protect them against the Spectre security vulnerability.
