Apple is offering owners of a number of their iPhone models a new battery for a reduced price of $29. The company started doing this after it was discovered that Apple was slowing down older iPhones that had a degraded battery.
The new $29 batteries are available for iPhones from the iPhone 6 onward, although Apple has now had to delay replacements for the iPhone 6 Plus due to supply of the batteries. MacRumors have been told by a number of their readers who have tried to get the batteries that some are delayed until March.
Apple’s official word on the delays is apparently two weeks so it would appear there is some differences in what some of their customers are being told.
Apple is offering these replacement batteries on the iPhone 6, the iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
If you have had a problem getting a replacement battery for your iPhone and have to wait until March, leave a comment below and let us know.
