We reported a while back that Angry Birds would be coming to a number of games consoles, now it seems it is official as Rovio Mobile’s CEO, Peter Vesterbacka, recently told the BBC that they will be launching console versions of Angry Birds in the near future.
Rovio Mobile have yet to announce when the Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and Sony PS3 console versions of the game will be available, all we know is that the games are in the works, so hopefully we will see them early in 2011.
Angry Birds is one of the most popular games on a number of mobile platforms, like Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android platform, and Rovio Mobile has also announced that they will be releasing Angry Birds 2 for mobile platforms next year as well as the console versions.
We suspect that the console versions of Angry Birds will become very popular, the games now have a massive fan base, many of which probably own at least one console, so we expect the console version to be extremely popular.
As soon as we get some more information on when Rovio Mobile will be launching Angry Birds for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii, as well as Angry Birds 2 for mobile platforms we will let you guys know.
