It has been reported this week that Amazon may be preparing to launch its Alexa personal assistant that is capable of responding to users voice commands, on the company’s Amazon Fire TV set-top box.
Within the Fire OS 5 developer preview documentation AFTVnews has found clues that could indicate Amazon is preparing to launch Alexa on the Amazon Fire TV to provide similar features that are available when using Amazon’s Echo personal assistant that is currently available within the US.
Amazon recently made available utilities and tools for developers to use the Alexa personal assistant on applications for smartphones, computers, set-top boxes and other hardware.
Unfortunately it’s not been made clear whether the new Alexa personal assistant will available on existing Amazon Fire TV systems or whether the code is being prepared for future hardware releases. But as soon as more information becomes available either officially from Amazon or leaked sources we will keep you updated.
In the meantime jump over to the AFTVnews website via the link below to learn more about the clues and features you can expect to enjoy using the Alexa personal assistant such as news updates, sports scores and weather forecasts to name a few.
