Amazon is one of the largest online retailer in the US, and recently announced that 2013 holiday season was a pretty busy one with 426 items sold every second. These are a lot of orders that need processing, as well as those which must be shipped out to customers.
As a result, many users had to suffer from late deliveries. This issue was brought up by UPS as well, who mentioned on Tuesday that the company may not be able to get deliveries on time for Christmas. Well, if you are one of those users who order it from the retail giant, and suffered late deliveries, Amazon will compensate users for the delay with a 20$ gift card. Additionally, Amazon also refunded the shipment charges with those associated with late deliveries from UPS.
In response to some affected customers, UPS mentioned they did not receive the package on time from the shipper and mentioned it the cause of the delay. In response, an Amazon spokesperson said,
“Amazon fulfillment centers processed and tendered customer orders to delivery carriers on time for holiday delivery. We are reviewing the performance of the delivery carriers.”
There’s no word on how many customers were affected, and this isn’t going to make things any better for those who missed the deliveries on Christmas Eve. But, this at least shows that Amazon care about its customers. Were you affected by delays on the products you ordered? Share with us using the comments below.
