Amazon has now completed its acquisition of Ring the company who sells the Ring Doorbell and it is now offering the original device at a discounted price.
Amazon paid $1 billion to acquire Ring, now Amazon is offering the first generation Ring Doorbell for $99 in the US and for $89 in the UK.
The device normally retails for $139 in the US and now Amazon has started to offer the device at these lower prices. It is not clear as yet on whether this is a permanent price drop for the device. Amazon have not dropped the price of the second generation device as yet.
The Ring Doorbell comes with HD video in 1280 x 720 pixels and it features motion detection and two way audio. It will alert you on your smartphone when someone is at your door and it works with Amazon’s Alexa enabled devices. You can find out more details about the device over at Amazon at the link below.
