The new 9.7 inch iPad Pro was made official at Apple’s press event earlier this week, the device has similar specifications to the 12.9 inch iPad Pro, although it comes with an improved camera.
We had assumed that it would come with 4GB of RAM, although according to Mathew Panzarino from TechCrunch, the new smaller iPad Pro comes with 2GB of RAM.
Matthew posted some Geekbench results which had been run on the new smaller iPad Pro and they confirmed that the device does actually have 2GB of RAM.
The other specifications on the tablet are similar to the 12.9 inch model, the device has the Apple A9X processor and Apple’s M9 motion coprocessor, the tablet comes in a range of storage sizes from 32gB up to 256GB.
Apple has also improved the camera on the new smaller Pro tablet, it now comes with a 12 megapixel iSight camera which is capable of recording 4K Ultra HD video.
Apple will start taking orders on the device from tomorrow and it will go on sale next week on the 31st of March, pricing for the device starts at $599 and goes up to $1029 for the top model.
