Back in January, Apple started selling the iPhone 4 in India again, last week Apple stopped selling the handset in the country, and the apparent reason for this is that Apple are getting ready to launch the 8GB iPhone 5C in India.
The iPhone 4 was sold as the entry level iPhone in India, the device will now be replaced with the 8GB iPhone 5C, and the handset is expected to retail for around 35,000 RS in India, the 16GB model currently retails for 41,900 Rs.
The cheaper iPhone 5C has been available in a range of European countries, plus China and Australia over the last few months, Apple originally launched the device to boost sales of the iPhone 5C.
The iPhone 5C comes in a range of bright colors, and the handset features a 4 inch Retina display with a resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels, it is powered by Apple’s A6 processor and features 1GB of RAM.
Other specifications on the handset include an 8 megapixel rear camera for photos and video, and a front facing Apple FaceTime camera which features a 1.2 megapixel sensor.
The 8GB version of the iPhone 5C is expected to launch in India some time over the next few weeks, Apple are also rumored to be expanding the 8GB model to other countries as well.
