A new homebrew app is being created by Nintendo 3DS modders that will enable owners to control their Windows desktop using the pocket handheld 3DS games console thanks to the new remote desktop controller.
In the video below you can see footage of the mod being used to control a World of Warcraft character, and even though the application is still in its early build stage of development, provides a good indication of what you can expect to do with the new 3DS app once it’s been made fully functional.
Gbatemp member retrozelda explains a little more :
“I have been working on a project on and off for about 2 weeks now. I decided to work on something else so I am releasing what I have. a 3DS Remote Desktop app that allows you to remote control your PC for games, movies…”- “This is only an early test. Packet compression and various optimizations are needed. Uses ctrulib”
“To use, set the server config file to set button input mappings, the port to use, and the destination screen size(mostly used for other platforms so just leave it at 400×240 because thats the 3DS’ screen size). …. The client is still a bit ugly, but once you set the server and port to connect to(D pad for server, and L and R keys to set port), press A to connect.”
