Chefs who would like to create weird and wonderful shapes and designs might be interested in a new 3D food printer called the 3dFoodShaper that has launched over on the Indiegogo crowd funding website looking to raise €10,000.
As you can see from the quick video after the jump the 3D food printer contains a similar build to that of the 3D printers that are available to print 3D plastic models.
However rather than printing plastic the 3dFoodShaper has been designed to create three-dimensional objects using icing sugar, chocolate, cookie dough or any other food product from own recipe. Its creators explain a little bit more about the concept of 3D food printers :
“Food printing offers a range of potential benefits. The potential of these kind of printers is enormous.Your support will be the first step to introduce this technology.
In future this technology could help to convert alternative ingredients into healthy and tasty products. You could make food with ingredients tuned to your own needs. This is not only good for yourself, but it is also a smart environmental choice. Renewable sources used for your food. Tuned at your own needs. Freshly prepared at the moment that you want it. Designed at your own style. Shaped in a way that you like it.
Of course you could already start to prepare your own receipes and create unique food products. Mix ingredient to create your own recipe. Print with it to create your food product.”
The 3D food printer project is currently over on the Indiegogo crowd funding website looking to raise enough pledges to make the jump from concept to production. So if you think the 3dFoodShaper is something you could benefit from, visit the Indiegogo website now to make a pledge and help the 3D food printer become a reality.
