If you are in the market for a new mini PC you might be interested to learn that Shuttle has this week unveiled new additions to its range in the form of the Shuttle XH81 and XH81V digital media player systems that are equipped with Intel Core i7 Haswell and measure just 24 x 20 x 7.2 cm
Shuttle has designed the new Shuttle XH81 mini PCs to be used in kiosks, vending machines or for signage applications, but are powerful enough to be used as fully fledged desktop mini PCs.
The two new addtions can be equipped with a wide range of processors and up to 16GB of RAM using the provided 2 DDR3 SODIMM slots. Other features of the new Shuttle XH81 and XH81V mini PCs systems include HDMI output, Gigabit ethernet ports 2 x USB 3.0 ports, 6 x USB 2.0 ports as well as 5 COM ports for peripherals that use RS232, RS4222, or RS485 cables. Shuttle has also included 2 mini PCIe slots Which are capable of supporting either optional wireless connectivity or solid state disk (SSD) storage together with 2 x 2.5 inch drive bays for additional storage or the installation of a slim DVD or Blu-ray drive. In addition to a full I/O interface, the series can be configured with either a slim ODD or up to 5 COM ports to connect with peripheral devices.”
