The Samsung Galaxy S4 is rumored to be announced on the 15th of March at a Samsung unpacked event in Moscow, we are expecting the Samsung Galaxy S4 to launch in Europe between the 15th and 22nd of March and in the US in late May or early June.
Earlier in the week we saw some benchmarks for a Samsung Galaxy S4 device, which we believe may be the Samsung Galaxy S 4 mini, and now benchmarks have appeared for another Samsung Galaxy S4 variant which could possibly the Verizon version of the handset.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is rumored to come with Samsung’s new 8 core Exynos Octa 5 processor, but the new benchmarks show a Galaxy S4 device a quad core 1.9GHz processor, likely a Qualcomm version as a Qualcomm Adreno 320 GPU is mentioned.
When Samsung launched the Galaxy S3 last year, the European version of the handset camera with a Samsung Exynos processor, whilst the US version of the device came with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and Samsung could be doing a similar thing this year with the release of the Galaxy S4.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 listed in the benchmarks is believed to be headed to Verizon Wireless, as it comes with the SCH-I545 model number, the Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 has a model number of SCH-I535, so the new Galaxy S4 revealed in the benchmarks looks it it is headed to Verizon.
It is not clear as yet whether all of the US versions of the Samsung Galaxy S4 will feature the same specifications as the Verizon version, or whether they will use Samsung’s 8 core processor.
What we have heard previously is that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will come with a 4.99 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, the resolution of the device in the benchmarks is 1920 x 1080 pixels.
We are also expecting, the Samsung Galaxy S4 to be powered by Samsung’s 8 core Exynos Octa 5 processor, at least in the international version of the device, and it will come with 2GB of RAM and a choice of 16GB, 32GB or 4GB of built in storage.
Other rumored specifications on the Samsung Galaxy S4 include a 13 megapixel camera, and some sort of new touchless gestures, plus new Eye tracking technology with Eye Scroll and Eye Pause.
We heard yesterday that Samsung intend to launch the Galaxy S4 Mini at the same time as the Samsung Galaxy S4 and there is also the possibility that they will launch their new Samsung Galaxy Smartwatch at the same time.
