Netflix has this week announced via Twitter the launch of their new application on the Chrome web store, finally enabling users of ChromeOS to stream Netflix media. The new Netflix ChromeOS application allows users to stream media to their ChromeOS devices Google CR-48 or Acer Series 5 and resume watching where you left off on your TV or another computer.
As the Netflix application is available in the Chrome web store you can also install it into your Chrome web browser on either your Mac or Windows computer. Essentially adding a bookmark within the browser to the Netflix website.
The Netflix ChromeOS app is now available to download for free, but you will require a subscription to Netflix to be able to watch their media content. if you experience problems after you’ve installed the application on your ChromeOS device, Chrome OS Community Manager Melissa Daniels suggests that you check you have the latest Chrome OS update installed.
It’s also been reported that the Netflix app on CR-48 devices will only allow you to view lo-res media.
