Evernote has today rolled out a new update 3.0.6 to their Mac application, which brings with it a newly revamped user interface for notes, together with a range of enhancements to checklists, tables, and more.
The newly designed note panel has been designed to save space and provide a much easier-to-understand interface. Evernote has also added what they are calling “Intelligence” to the header of the notes. This feature shows both the date the note was created and updated, making it easier for users to keep track of their notes’ history and modifications.

Enhanced Note Editing Features
Once you start editing a note, the date fades away and becomes the formatting bar. This dynamic change helps in maximizing the workspace and reducing clutter. If you want to edit the date, simply click on the “i.” This intuitive design choice ensures that users can focus on their content without unnecessary distractions. Another new feature added in this update enables you to now view multiple notes while in full-screen mode. By double-clicking on as many notes as you would like to view, you can easily compare and reference different pieces of information without having to switch back and forth between notes.
Evernote explains:
“The goals of the redesign were clarity and simplification. You’ll notice that the new layout is much more space-efficient. For example, we moved information about the note into the “i” button. We also made note sharing options much more prominent with the new, big share arrow.”
Additional Enhancements and Features
In addition to the revamped note panel and editing features, Evernote 3.0.6 brings several other enhancements aimed at improving user experience. The update includes improvements to checklists, making it easier to create and manage to-do lists. Users can now enjoy a more streamlined process for adding, checking off, and organizing tasks within their notes.
Tables have also received significant upgrades. The new table tools allow for better customization and formatting options, enabling users to create more complex and visually appealing tables. This is particularly useful for those who rely on tables for organizing data, project planning, or even simple lists.
Moreover, the update introduces better integration with other Evernote features and third-party applications. For instance, users can now seamlessly incorporate content from Evernote’s web clipper or integrate with other productivity tools like Google Drive and Slack. This enhanced connectivity ensures that Evernote remains a central hub for all your note-taking and organizational needs.
The update is now available as an automatic download from the Mac App Store. Users are encouraged to update their applications to take full advantage of these new features and improvements. With this update, Evernote continues to solidify its position as a leading note-taking and productivity application, catering to the needs of both casual users and professionals alike.
