Sony Ericsson Fixes Saito Problems

Last week a couple of UK mobile phone retailers, the Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4U removed Sony Ericsson’s Saito mobile phone from their shelves due to a number for problems experienced by Saito owners.

Sony Ericsson has just released a software patch for the troubled handset, which is said to fix the problems, which were basically the handset freezing when you were running more than one application at once.

Samsung Omnia II Now Available On Verizon

The Samsung Omnia II is now available on Verizon from today, for $199.99 after a $100 mail in rebate on a two year contract.

Other features on the Samsung Omnia II include a  3.7 inch touch screen display, and it runs on Windows Mobile 6.5 and features Samsung’s TouchWiz 2.0 UI.

Nokia Releasing Just One Maemo Smartphone In 2010

When Nokia announced the Nokia N900 everyone expected to see a lot more Maemo powered handsets from Nokia next year, this is not the case as Nokia only intends to released one Maemo handset in 2010.

To be honest most people though Nokia would be saying goodbye to Symbian, and using their Linux Maemo OS instead, but Nokia has stated that they are ‘firmly committed to Symbian as our smartphone platform of choice,’.

LG eXpo Smartphone

LG & AT&T have announced a new smartphone, the LG eXpo, which is aimed at the business market and it features an optional DLP projector that is attached to the back of the phone.

The LG eXpo features a 3.2 inch touchscreen LCD display, a slider QWERTY keyboard, built in A-GPS, plus a five megapixel camera and a microSD card slot.

Zii Trinity 3.5G Android Mobile Phone

The guys over at Gizmodo have managed to get their hand on a prototype of a ZiiLABS, Google Android mobile phone, which runs the Zii Trinity platform which is designed for Google Android and Plaszma operating systems.

The Zii Trinity features a 3.1 inch multi touch OLED display with a resolution of 480 x 800, and it can support full HD video playback in 1080p, via the built in mini HDMI port, it also features support for OpenGL 2.0 for accelerated gaming.

Sony Ericsson Aino Hit With Problems

The other day the Sony Ericsson Saito was removed from the shelves by a number of UK retailers due to reported problems with the handset, now it looks like another mobile phone from Sony Ericsson is having problems, the Sony Ericsson Aino.

The problems seem to stem from the touchscreen on the Sony Aino and Sony Ericsson has acknowledged the problem and have said that they have a solution in the works.

Nokia N900 Delayed In The UK

Nokia has had to delay the launch of its new Maemo powered handset, the Nokia N900, in the UK due to the huge demand for the mobile phone, and the amount of pre-orders Nokia has received.

The Nokia N900 was due to go on sale in the UK this week, but now it looks like it won’t be available until the 4th of December, this is mainly to to the fact that the demand for the handset has far outstripped Nokia’s supplies.

Fring Brings Video Calls to Smart Phones

Yesterday Fring launched a new version of its smart phone app that now allows users to make video calls through Skype of 3G or Wifi.

At the moment the software only works  on the following smart phones: Nokia smartphones: 5800, X6, N97, N97 mini, N95 8G, N95 and N82. But Fring say more devices will be added shortly.
