Nokia Sues Apple Over iPhone Patent Infringement

Nokia is suing Apple [AAPL] and they have alleged that the Apple iPhone infringes patents forGSM, UMTS and wireless LAN (WLAN) standards.

Nokia have listed 10 different patents in their suit which include technologies which are fundamental to making devices which are compatible with one or more of the GSM, UMTS (3G WCDMA) and Wireless LAN standards, the patents include cover wireless data, speech coding, security and encryption.

Rock Bank iPhone App Now Available

We told you earlier this month that EA games would be releasing Rock Band for the Apple iPhone and iPod touch, the good news is that Rock Band is now available from iTunes.

Rock Band for the iPhone and iPod Touch features a multi player mode that lets you play with up to four people over Bluetooth, it also has a built in feature that lets you invite your friends from Facebook to play the game.

Canon Easy Photo-Print iPhone App

Canon is the latest company to launch a free iPhone application that will let users print directly from their iPhone to Canon PIXMA wireless printer over WiFi, the Canon Easy Photo-Print iPhone App.

The Canon Easy Photo-Print iPhone App can print on a range of different paper sizes and typed, and it will even let you print multiple photos at once, it also has the ability to print multiple copies of individual photos up to a maximum of 20.

New iPhone 3GS Can Still Be Jailbroken

The other day we reported that Apple [AAPL] was shipping their latest iPhone 3GS with a new bootrom update which would effectively stop the iPhone 3GS being jailbroken for the moment.

The good news is that according to Eric McDonald from the iPhone Dev team, any iPhone 3GS with the new bootrom can still be jailbroken, and that the new bootrom only causes a temporary inconvenience.

Apple [AAPL] has added a new feature to the iPhone Application store that lets users purchase extra content through free iPhone applications.

Previously this feature was only available through iPhone applications that cost money, this is bound to be good news for developers who will be able to offer free iPhone applications and then let users purchase additional content for a small fee.

Apple Working On iPhone Radio App

According to 9to5Mac, Apple [AAPL] is working on an FM radio App for the iPhone and iPod Touch, and apparently the FM radio application will be for current models of the iPhone and iPod Touch.

It looks like Apple will use the FM transmitter which is currently in the iPhone and iPod Touch, but isn’t used form Fm radio at the moment.

Apple Shipping Jailbreak Resistant iPhone 3GS

It looks like Apple is upping its game in an attempt to stop the iPhone being jailbroken, iPhone Dev Team member MuscleNerd has confirmed that Apple are shipping the iPhone 3GS with a bootrom update, iBoot-359.3.2 which will stop the iPhone 3Gs being jailbroken for the moment.

Blackra1n iPhone Jailbreak For Mac

We told you about the latest iPhone jailbreak the other day, Blackra1n, unfortunately it was Windows only, the good news is that George Hotz has now released a Mac version.

The Mac version works in exactly the same way as the Windows version and is very easy to use.
