O2 To Offer Official iPhone Unlock From 10th November

O2’s chief executive Matthew Key has confirmed that O2 will offer an unlocking service for the Apple iPhone, customers who’s contract is up will be able to have their iPhone unlocked for free, where as pay as you go customers will have to cough up a fee of £14.97 and will be able to unlock their iPhone after 12 months.

iKee Rickrolling iPhone Worm

Last week we told about the Dutch hacker who had hacked a bunch of jailbroken iPhones, now it seems a hacker in Australia has created a virus that affects jaibroken iPhones.

The virus is called ‘iKee’ and it replaces your default background with a picture of 80s pop star Rick Astley, with the message ‘ikee is never going to give you up’.

8GB iPhone 3GS Coming to AT&T For Christmas?

The latest Apple [AAPL] rumor doing the rounds is that AT&T are going to be selling an 8GB version of the iPhone 3GS just before Christmas.

Currently the only 8GB iPhone available is the 3G, and the iPhone 3GS is available in 16GB and 32GB version, by launching an 8GB iPhone 3GS for $99, AT &T may be able to get customers who would have been interested in the new $99 DROID Eris.

Latest Snow Leopard 10.6.2 Build Adds Back Support For Intel Atom’s

We told you a few days ago that the latest build of Snow Leopard 10.6.2 had blocked support for Intel Atom PCs, this meant that anyone using a Hackintosh netbook wouldn’t be able to update to the latest version.

Good news for all the Hackintosh fans out there, the latest build now supports Intel Atom CPUs.

Apple Announces 100,000 iPhone Apps Now Available To Download

Apple [AAPL] has announced that there are now more than 100,000 apps available to download to the iPhone and iPod Touch from the iTunes App store.

iPhone and iPod Touch users are download apps at the rate of about 10,000 per day, which is pretty impressive, and it shows just how popular the app store and the iPhone and iPod Touch platforms have become.

Orange’s iPhone Unlimited Data Plan Is Limited to 750MB Per Month

It seems that Orange, who are about to start selling the iPhone on the 10th of November are offering a so called unlimited data plane with the iPhone which is actually limited.

Rory Cellan Jones from the BBC has discovered something interesting in Orange’s iPhone terms and conditions, that data will be limited to 750MB per month, not only is data limited but some services aren’t included in the 750MB limit.

Orange Launches Its First iPhone App

UK mobile phone operator Orange, who will start selling the Apple iPhone from the 10th of November has launched its first iPhone app called ‘Orange Wednesdays’

The Orange Wednesdays application is available as a free download from the iPhone App store in the UK, and it brings the Orange Wednesdays cinema service to the iPhone.

This has got to be the largest iPod speaker I’ve seen. This monster  Wall of Sound (WOS) speaker by Brothers has 28 elements and completely dwarfs the iPod Nano, promoted as the worlds  most powerful iPod speaker has a frequency response of 40Hz – 20,00kHz and weighs 102kilos.

Snow Leopard 10.6.2 Breaks Intel Atom Hackintosh’s

If you are running a netbook with Mac OS X Snow Leopard then you might want to hold off updating it to the 10.6.2 update when it is released as it seems that this version of Snow Leopard will no longer be compatible with Intel Atom processors.

Apple TV 3.0 Goes Live

We mentioned yesterday that Apple [AAPL] was launching an update to its Apple TV, the update is now live and available to download, and it has a range of new features.

Apple TV 3.0 features a completely re-designed user interface, as well as new iTunes features which include support for Genius Mixes, Internet Radio, iTunes Extras  and iTunes LP.
