Chinese company ZTE, better known for manufacturing tablets and smartphones, has this week unveiled its new and very first wearable smartwatch device in the form of the new ZTE Bluewatch at CES 2014.
The new ZTE Bluewatch smartwatch is still currently in development, and the products they are showcasing at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas are still only prototype devices. Watch the video after the jump to learn more.
Features and Specifications
The ZTE Bluewatch has been designed to provide users with a battery capable of providing a week’s worth of use. This extended battery life is a significant advantage over many other smartwatches currently on the market, which often require daily charging. As with other smartwatch devices, the ZTE Bluewatch links to your smartphone to provide notifications for incoming calls and messages directly on your wrist. This seamless integration ensures that users can stay connected without constantly checking their phones.
In addition to basic notifications, the ZTE Bluewatch is expected to support a variety of other features. These may include fitness tracking capabilities such as step counting, heart rate monitoring, and sleep tracking. Such features are becoming increasingly popular as users look for ways to monitor their health and fitness more closely.
Development and Future Applications
ZTE has also announced they are currently developing a number of applications for the new ZTE Bluewatch, including a range of social applications. While no specific details are currently available for discussion at the present time, it is anticipated that these applications will enhance the functionality of the smartwatch, making it a more versatile and useful device. For example, social media integration could allow users to receive updates and interact with their social networks directly from their wrist.
Moreover, ZTE’s commitment to developing a robust ecosystem of applications suggests that the Bluewatch could become a central hub for various aspects of daily life. Potential applications could range from productivity tools, such as calendar and email management, to entertainment options like music and video playback.
Unfortunately, no information on pricing or worldwide availability has been released as yet by ZTE for their new ZTE Bluewatch. However, given ZTE’s history of producing affordable yet high-quality devices, it is likely that the Bluewatch will be competitively priced. As soon as information comes to light, we will keep you updated as always.
The ZTE Bluewatch represents an exciting new venture for ZTE into the wearable technology market. With its promising features and the potential for a wide range of applications, the Bluewatch could become a significant player in the smartwatch industry. As the development progresses and more details emerge, it will be interesting to see how ZTE positions the Bluewatch in a competitive market and what unique features it will bring to the table.
