Microsoft Xbox One console owners that were hoping to be able to use the newly announced Xbox One screenshot feature that was unveiled earlier this month.
Might be a little disappointed to learn that Microsoft’s Xbox head Phil Spencer who announced the incoming release of the new screenshot feature, has today clarified that unfortunately it will not be ready until sometime in 2015.
In an interview with the IGN website Spencer explained : “As we come back into the new year, we’ll see new stuff, and screenshots is on the list,” he joked that he keeps on at the development team saying “We can do video, how hard can it be to just grab a frame of the video?”
However he then explains : “It’s a little more technically challenging than I thought. Two weeks ago, they think they’ve found a good solution for screenshots. They’re working on it. They know people want it. The team has a path to getting it done, and now it’s just prioritizing.”
Spencer also explained that Microsoft is also continuing to working on reducing the install times for Xbox One titles which has been a highly requested feature by Xbox One owners since its launch.
As well as revealing the December Xbox One update will be smaller than previous system updates : “ In December, it’s probably a time for us to pause for a little bit and settle just as all the new consoles are coming online.”
