Xbox One gamers patiently waiting for Microsoft to rollout support for external storage will be pleased to know that Xbox One developers have today announced over on the Major Nelson website, that you can expect the external storage support to arrive in next month’s June Xbox One update.
Once you have downloaded the Xbox One June update your games console will then be able to accept external storage devices that support USB 3.0 and have at least 256 GB of free space.
Once the new Xbox One external storage is plugged into the console users can then choose for new games and applications to be installed on the external drive by default. In total the Xbox One console can support up to two external drives at the same time.
Other new features rolling out in the Xbox One June update includes support for new Xbox One SmartGlass app features, enabling you to customise your pins via touch and also receive alerts if friends are broadcasting gameplay via Twitch.
As well as OneGuide TV listings and universal TV remote functionality are also coming to SmartGlass. Check out the video below to learn more bout the features you can expect to arrive in the next Xbox One June update.
