
Developers of the super affordable $20 Wyze security camera which allows you to keep an eye on your home remotely using the company’s companion smartphone application. Have today announced that the Wyze camera now supports Amazon Alexa enabling you to set up skills And use voice control.
To make use of the Amazon elector integration you will need to install the Wyze skill allowing you to tell Alexa to show livestream video from your camera on your Amazon device. The Wyze skill connects to the Echo Show, Echo Spot, Fire Tablets and Fire TV. It’s compatible with all generations of Fire TV, all Fire TV Edition Smart TVs and Fire Tablets Gen 7 and above.
Wyze Cam v2 and Wyze Cam Pan work with Alexa. Wyze Cam v2 firmware needs to be on version 4.9.2.18 or higher. Wyze Cam Pan firmware needs to be on version 4.10.1.8 or higher. Unfortunately Due to a hardware limitation with the original Wyze Cam, the original Wyze Cam does not support Amazon Alexa.
