The title makes this bit of news sound a bit more drastic than it is, but by February 2014 you will no longer be able to play Xbox Video content you purchase prior to February 2014 on the Zune PC client, Zune devices, or any Windows Phone 7 device. You will be able to watch it through Xbox One, Xbox 360, Windows 8 and 8.1, and Windows Phone.
The source article starts off with, “The desktop Zune client could easily go down as one of the greatest desktop applications of all time”, which made me laugh hysterically for a bit before I was able to bring this bit of news to your attention. I don’t know anyone who used the desktop Zune client once, let alone regularly. If it was one of the greatest applications of all time then I highly doubt it would be falling by the wayside.
That being said, I figured the few of you out there with Windows Phone 7s may find this tidbit of information informative.
Seriously though, who uses a Windows Phone? Please comment and let me know. I find it incredible that anyone buys one over an Android or an iPhone. If you’re one of those people, why did you get a Windows Phone and does this bit of news affect you?
Oh, and have you ever used the Zune PC client?
