From what Microsoft announced previously, we were expecting the Windows Phone 7 update to be released in the early part of this month, but now it looks like the Windows Phone 7 Copy and Paste update has now been delayed until the end of March.
Microsoft’s Eric Hautala recently announced on the Windows Team Blog, that the update has now been delayed until the end of March, and the reason for this is to ensure that everything goes smoothly when it is released.
Microsoft’s previous update, which was released to get Windows Phone 7 devices ready for the Copy and Past update caused problems to a number of Samsung devices, the update had to then be pulled and was only recently re-released, but some users are still experiencing problems.
We have the next update waiting in the wings. It delivers copy and paste, better Marketplace search, and other key improvements.
But I believe it’s important that we learn all we can from the February update. So I’ve decided to take some extra time to ensure the update process meets our standards, your standards, and the standards of our partners. As a result, our plan is to start delivering the copy-and-paste update in the latter half of March.
So Microsoft are obviously working with the mobile carriers and manufacturers to make sure that this new Windows Phone 7 update can be released to all WP7 devices without causing any problems for users.
As soon as we have more details on an exact launch date for the Windows Phone 7 Copy and Paste update we will let you guys know.
