Guitarist and developer Nate Tite based in Los Angeles California has created a new amp guitar pedal headphone amplifier called the Whisper, which she has launched over on the Kickstarter crowdfunding website to raise the required $7,000 he needs to take his design into manufacture.
Whisper has been designed for those guitarists that need to practice with pedal board effects without waking the neighbours. Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about its design and features.
Nate explains a little more about the inspiration behind the Whisper amp guitar pedal headphone amplifier :
Having successfully completed the original Whisper Amp project, many people are using their Whisper Amps as headphone amps for their FX chains. What a great idea!
The obvious limitation of the Whisper Amp on a pedal board is that it has to be plugged in and then unplugged in order to use your main amplifier again. The Whisper Amp Pedal alleviates this. A copy of the guitar signal is fed directly to a thru output that can go directly to your amplifier. This output is also mutable making it perfect for playing late at night or in an apartment setting. Of course, the Whisper Amp Pedal has a headphone output which has its very own gain circuit. Dial it in directly and continue to play well into the night using headphones.
Each Whisper Amp Pedal will be powered via 9V power supply like standard pedals. A power adapter is not included. This saves space and weight for shipping to keep costs lower.
Jumped over to Kickstarter to help Nate take the Whisper into production with pledges starting from just $80 with free shipping throughout the US included in the price.
