Online video service Vimeo has today launched a new service called Vimeo On Demand, which has been created to provide film makers with a way of distributing their movies, but allowing them to retaining a 90 percent share of the revenue generated by their movies.
The new Vimeo On Demand provide movie makers with the tools to price, select country-by-country availability, customise their page design, and offer content on Vimeo, their own website, or both behind a paywall to earn revenue.
Vimeo on Demand movies purchased are accessible across devices, and allows movie creators to tap into an audience of 93 million monthly viewers, across a wide range of mobile and desktop devices. Including Android, iOS and Smart TVs. Vimeo CEO, Kerry Trainor explained in press release:
