The UK Parliament previously asked for Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to appear before them after the Cambridge Analytica scandal. Instead the Facebook CEO sent other people to answer questions on his behalf.
Now the UK have issued an ultimatum to Mr Zuckerberg, he either appears before Parliament voluntarily, or he will be summoned to appear the next time he lands in the UK.
Mark Zuckerberg is giving evidence in the European Parliament this month and now the UK wants him to come to London and give evidence during his European trip. This means that if he doesn’t appear this time when asked to do so, he will automatically be forced to appear before Parliament the next time he visits the UK.
It will be interesting to see what Facebook decides to do and whether their CEO will appear before UK parliament voluntarily.
