Some Twitter users may have received an email from Twitter over the last few hours asking users to reset their password, this was apparently an error on Twitter’s part.
The email from Twitter said that “Twitter believes that your account may have been compromised by a website or service not associated with Twitter,”We’ve reset your password to prevent others from accessing your account.”, this was in fact sent my mistake.
Twitter has now released a statement, which you can see below, confirming that this email was sent to Twitter users by mistake.
We unintentionally sent some password reset notices tonight due to a system error. We apologize to the affected users for the inconvenience.
Unfortunately if you have received the above email from Twitter, then you will probably have to reset your password.
