Jewellery manufacturer Rhinhorns has once again taken to Kickstarter this month to raise funds for its new glowing titanium ring aptly named the TRITiRING. The ring is constructed from Grade5 Titanium which is considered as the most biocompatible metal due to its resistance to corrosion, bio-inertness, and high fatigue limit.
A protective oxide film forms naturally in the presence of oxygen, which is strongly adhered, insoluble, and chemically impermeable, preventing reactions between the metal and the surrounding environment. Its designer explained a little more about the inspiration and design of the new titanium ring “I’m proud to unveil my vision of the perfect Men’s Ring : I really want to offer something different , a pure and elegant design, and a touch of futuristic tactical taste with premium material: Titanium“.
Inserted into the ring is Tritium a gaseous Tritium Light Source (GTLS) that does not require any power input to provide continuous illumination in darkness for more than 10-15 years. The light source is available in a number of different colours including green, blue, yellow, white, orange, UV blue, red and purple.
