TomTom has today announced that a new Android version of their GPS map and navigation application will be arriving in October for Android smartphones and tablets.
The TomTom Android app will provide users with the same service enjoyed by other platforms, and has been designed to work with the TomTom Hands-free car kit designed for smartphones.
The new TomTom Android application is currently being showcased at the IFA consumer electronics trade show starting today. Corinne Vigreux, Managing Director at TomTom explains:
“We aim to make TomTom content and services available to as many devices and platforms as we can,”-“Bringing TomTom navigation to Android smartphones is, therefore, a significant milestone for us.”
Unfortunately no information on pricing or worldwide availability has been released as yet by TomTom, but as soon as information comes to light we will keep you updated as always.
