As well as iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra, Apple also revealed a new version of their watchOS at their worldwide developer conference, watchOS 4.
We previously heard about some of the new features coming to the Apple Watch in the new watchOS and now we have a video showing some of these off.
New Features in watchOS 4
In the video below, from the guys over at MacRumors, we get to see the new watch faces and also the new dock.
One of the standout features of watchOS 4 is the introduction of new watch faces. These include a Siri-powered watch face that provides personalized information throughout the day, such as reminders, traffic information, and news updates. Additionally, there are new Toy Story-themed watch faces featuring beloved characters like Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie, which add a fun and playful element to the Apple Watch experience.
The new dock in watchOS 4 has also been redesigned for better usability. It now features a vertical scrolling interface, making it easier to navigate through your most-used apps. This improvement is aimed at enhancing the overall user experience by providing quicker access to essential functions.
Enhanced Fitness and Health Tracking
Another significant update in watchOS 4 is the enhanced fitness and health tracking capabilities. Apple has introduced new algorithms for high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts, which are becoming increasingly popular among fitness enthusiasts. The Workout app has been updated to include new workout types and better tracking for activities like swimming and running.
Moreover, the Activity app now offers more personalized coaching and monthly challenges to help users stay motivated. These updates are designed to make the Apple Watch an even more powerful tool for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Apple will release their watchOS 4 software update later in the year, they have not given an exact release date for the update as yet. We suspect that Apple may release their watchOS 4 software update some time in September.
Apple are rumored to be launching their new iPhone 8 with iOS 11 some time in September and we are also expecting them to release their new watchOS at the same time.
