The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active is designed to be a rugged version of the Samsung Galaxy S8. The display on the device is said to be more durable than the standard handset.
Now it would appear that the display on the Galaxy S8 Active is a Gorilla Glass display with a plastic screen protector stuck onto the handset. This was discovered by YouTube Hamlock Maneuver who can be seen removing the screen protector in the video below.
As we can see from the video this can be removed quite easily with a razor blade, Hamlock Maneuver then decided to install a glass screen protector instead of the factory one, this can be seen in the video below.
So basically Samsung has used Gorilla Glass 5 for the display on the Galaxy S8 Active and then placed a factory fitted plastic screen protector on top for added protection. This could be useful if your display on your Galaxy S8 Active is scratched as the plastic protector appears to be fairly easy to replace,
