We’ve already heard that HTC is cooking up a new Nexus tablet with a 8.9-inch display known as HTC Volantis, and may launch in the coming months.
For those of you who had any doubts about its existence, @evleaks has posted an image — which doesn’t really show anything about how the device may look like or what it may offer — that confirms the existence of the alleged HTC Volantis tablet.
Although most of the stuff in the image posted below is blurred out, it still shows the codename of the tablet which we hear before, rumored to be Flounder as shown. We believe the other part shown in the image could be the model number of the alleged tablet.
Spec-wise, rumors suggest the alleged tablet will come with a 64-bit processor on board with 2GB of RAM. There will be two storage options: 16GB and 32GB. Unfortunately, there’s no word if the tablet will come with a microSD card slot or not, but based on past Nexus devices, we doubt it.
Other features include an 8MP camera with optical image stabilization, “aluminum zero-gap construction with tapered-sides,” 3MP front-facing camera, LTE connectivity and should come with the latest version of Android.
There’s no word from Google or HTC about its launch, but we’ll keep an eye on the rumor mill and update you as soon as we get any information.
