Targus has this week unveiled their new universal dock equipped with USB 3.0 connections, together with video technology from DisplayLink allowing resolutions up to 2560 x 1600.
The Targus USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Dual Video Docking Station (ACP70US) is also equipped with a DVI port and HDMI port, enabling you to run triple displays from the one laptop. Targus has included an HDMI-DVI adapter with the dock that enables you to run two DVI displays out-of-the-box, and a DVI-VGA adapter is included to give you comprehensive support for all modern display requirements.
Enhanced Connectivity and Performance
The Targus USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Dual Video Docking Station is designed to meet the needs of modern professionals who require multiple displays and high-speed data transfer. With USB 3.0 technology, users can experience data transfer rates up to 5 Gbps, which is ten times faster than USB 2.0. This makes it ideal for transferring large files, such as high-definition videos and extensive databases, in a fraction of the time.
Moreover, the inclusion of DisplayLink technology ensures that users can enjoy high-resolution displays without compromising on performance. The dock supports resolutions up to 2560 x 1600, making it perfect for graphic designers, video editors, and other professionals who need crisp and clear visuals.
Versatile Display Options
One of the standout features of the Targus USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Dual Video Docking Station is its ability to support triple displays. This is made possible through its DVI and HDMI ports, along with the included HDMI-DVI and DVI-VGA adapters. This versatility ensures that users can connect to a wide range of monitors and projectors, making it an excellent choice for both office and home use.
For instance, a user can connect their laptop to a primary monitor via HDMI, a secondary monitor via DVI, and a third monitor using the DVI-VGA adapter. This setup is particularly beneficial for multitasking, allowing users to have multiple applications and documents open simultaneously without the need to constantly switch between windows.
Carolyn Perrier, vice president of product management and marketing at Targus, explains:
“As more peripherals incorporate USB 3.0 technology it is important to offer a docking solution that can meet the power and performance demands of these devices,” – “Being the first to offer a USB 3.0 docking station, Targus continues its mission to provide businesses with pioneering technology while lowering TCO and improving productivity.”
Additional Features and Benefits
In addition to its impressive display capabilities, the Targus USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Dual Video Docking Station offers several other features that enhance its functionality. It includes multiple USB ports, allowing users to connect various peripherals such as keyboards, mice, external hard drives, and printers. This reduces the clutter of cables and makes it easier to manage multiple devices from a single hub.
The docking station also features an Ethernet port, providing a reliable and fast wired internet connection. This is particularly useful in environments where Wi-Fi may be unstable or insufficient for high-bandwidth activities such as video conferencing or large file downloads.
Furthermore, the dock is designed with a compact and sleek form factor, making it easy to integrate into any workspace. Its plug-and-play functionality ensures that users can set it up quickly without the need for additional drivers or software.
The Targus Dual Video USB 3.0 Laptop Dock is now available to purchase for $199.
