Synology Unveils 36TB DiskStation DS2411+ Storage Solution

Synology has this week unveiled their new DiskStation DS2411+ storage solution that is capable of storing up to 36TB of data via 12 drive bays that accept either 2.5 or 3.5 inch drives.

The DiskStation supports a large range of RAID setups from Basic, to JBOD, RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 5+Spare, RAID 6 and RAID 10. You can even use Synology’s own Hybrid RAID system if you prefer.

Synology DiskStation DS2411+

The Synology DiskStation DS2411+ is powered by a dual-core 1.8GHz processor paired with 1GB of RAM which can be upgraded if desired to 3GB and can write at 165 MB/sec and read at around 195 MB/sec.

Connectivity is provided by two gigabit ethernet ports and optional WiFi and there are USB 2.0 connections to which external drives can be attached. There is also an addition Synology DX1211 expansion unit which can be used to double the 36TB to a whopping 72TB is required.

The new Synology DiskStation DS2411+ is now available for  $1,699.99 without disks and the DX1211 expansion module for $1,299.99.
