There are many challenges to installing your typical security system inside a home our outdoors. The problems are where to put the cameras and protect them from weather as well as how to store the video. Swann Security has unveiled a new camera called the OutbackCam that makes security recording very easy.
The camera is inside a rugged and weatherproof housing that can be used outside without worry. Video is stored to a SD card with a 2GB card included and support for up to 32GB SDHC cards. The camera has a 2MP resolution and stores JPEG images and AVI format video.
Images and video can be taken in color or B&W modes. The camera has an LCD for watching playback inside the case and runs on four AA batteries. A series of 15 IR LEDs is fitted on the camera allowing it to record in total darkness up to 32 feet from the cameras location. The OutbackCam is available now for $149.99.
