Some of our readers will remember Square, which is a mobile payments system for the iPhone, and now Android enabled smartphones that will let you pay fro goods or services with your smartphone.
The Square mobile payment system will also let you accept payments, without the need for a merchant account, so we guess it could be used in a similar pay as PayPal.
The service is due to go live this week, and users will be able to make and receive payments on their iPhone or Android smartphone, it could end up being a really popular system, and could replace payments for small items like a cup of coffee or a snack.
Once you have made a payment using the square system, your receipt will automatically be emailed to you, giving you a permanent record of all your transactions.
