Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge received the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop update in several regions, even on some carriers in the US as well, including T-Mobile and US Cellular.
If you happen to be a Sprint customer with a Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge, you be glad to find out the carrier is now rolling out the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for both handsets.
The update is sized at over 500MB so make sure you are connected to a WiFi network if you don’t want to choke out your data limit. Once the update is complete, the software version is upgraded to G920PVPU2B0F7 on both handsets.
As far as the changes are concerned, the new update comes with Android 5.1 alongside a handful of bug fixes and enhancements to improve the overall user experience. Furthermore, device protection feature is also on board as an added security measure, especially in cases of theft or loss. If that happen, the device will ask for you Google account password even if it’s reset.
The update is rolled out in batches so keep checking your notifications area and don’t panic. In case you can’t wait, you can manually check for the update from Settings. Let us know if you’ve received the new update.
