It looks like Sony’s Music Unlimited service will be available for the Sony Next Generation Portable (NGP), according to a recent report by Eurogamer, and this will bring around 6 million songs to the Sony NGP.
Sony has confirmed that people who use Sony’s Music Unlimited service will be able to access tunes from the service on their NGP, and there are a couple of different plans available for the Music Unlimited service.
The basic plan will give you access to genre specific and era specific music, this plan costs £2.99 a month, the premium service gives you access to additional on-demand music, and you get a choice of 6 million songs, this package costs £9.99 a month.
The heart of the offering here is that with the one account you can access this music on your TV, your PS3, your laptop, your Blu-ray player, and have your music follow you wherever you go, rather than having to download all of your music into a device and make that device go with you everywhere,” Shawn Layden, executive vice president and CEO of Sony Network Entertainment.
There are no details on when exactly the service will be available on the Sony NGP, but we suspect that Sony may have it ready to launch at the same time as the Sony NGP goes on sale.
