After images and specifications were leaked earlier this month for the new Sony Xperia T smartphone, we already had a good idea what would be announced at the IFA consumer electronics trade show in Berlin this week.
Now Sony has officially announced their new Sony Xperia T smartphone or TX in selective markets, and released its specifications, which include a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8260A Snapdragon S4 CPU.
Together with a 4.6″ HD Reality display powered by the Mobile Bravia Engine, a 13 megapixel camera, and the ability to record full 1080p HD video and 720p HD via the Xperia T front camera. Other features of the Sony Xperia T include pentaband UMTS / HSPA+ radios, MHL connectivity, FM radio, 16GB onboard storage and an 1,850mAh battery.
The Sony Xperia T will arrive in stores running Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system, which Sony says will be upgraded to Google’s latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system in the near future. But exact dates have yet to be announced.
No information on pricing or worldwide availability has been released as yet, but as soon as information is released by Sony we will keep you updated as always.
