Further to the announcement earlier this week of Sony Tablets coded named the S1 and S2, Sony has now released a teaser video showing a little more detail and the curved designs of the new Sony Tablets.
The new Sony tablets come in two distinct styles with the Sony S1 tablet equipped with a 9.4-inch display and a wedge shape design which Sony says provides a more ergonomic tablet to use. This wedge design is intended to offer a more comfortable grip, making it easier to hold for extended periods. The S1’s design also allows it to be propped up on a flat surface without the need for an additional stand, making it convenient for watching videos or reading.
While the S2 is designed as a foldable dual-screen tablet, fitted with a pair of 5.5-inch 1,024 x 480 pixel displays. This unique design allows the S2 to be folded in half, making it highly portable and easy to carry around. The dual screens can be used together as one large display or separately for multitasking, such as reading an email on one screen while browsing the web on the other. This innovative approach aims to enhance productivity and provide a versatile user experience.
Advanced Hardware and Software
The Sony S1 and S2 tablets feature the Tegra 2 SoC processor, which is known for its powerful performance and energy efficiency. This processor ensures that both tablets can handle demanding applications and multitasking with ease. Additionally, both tablets will ship running Google’s Honeycomb Android OS, which is specifically optimized for tablet devices. Honeycomb offers a range of features designed to improve the user experience, including a refined user interface, enhanced multitasking capabilities, and support for a wide variety of apps available on the Google Play Store.

Entertainment and Connectivity
Both the S1 and S2 tablets are designed with entertainment in mind. The S1’s large 9.4-inch display is perfect for watching movies, playing games, and browsing the web. The high-resolution screen ensures that images and videos are sharp and vibrant, providing an immersive viewing experience. The S2’s dual screens offer a unique way to enjoy content, with the ability to watch a video on one screen while controlling playback on the other.
In terms of connectivity, the Sony tablets are equipped with a range of options to keep you connected on the go. Both tablets support Wi-Fi and 3G/4G connectivity, allowing you to access the internet from virtually anywhere. They also come with Bluetooth support, enabling you to connect wireless peripherals such as keyboards, mice, and headphones. Additionally, the tablets feature USB ports and microSD card slots for easy file transfer and storage expansion.
