Sony has launched another crowd funding campaign this month following on from its successful e-paper smartwatch that launched over on the Indiegogo crowdfunding website last year.
This time Sony is crowdfunding a new project for its MESH Tags and MESH Canvas application and has been designed by Sony to provide users with a DIY platform to create a variety of electronic projects.
MESH enables users to make their own inventions with just a few swipes of the screen and a couple of minutes of time. Watch the video below to learn more about this new creation system created by Sony.
Sony Is looking to raise $50,000 to help take MESH into production and is already over 40 percent of the way there with still 53 days remaining, enticing 171 backers to pledge over $20,000 in just the first few days.
Packages start from $105 for early backers and include three simple MESH tags 1 x Acceleration MESH Tag, 1 x LED MESH Tag and 1 x Button MESH Tag. With other packages available offering larger amounts of MESH sensors for larger projects. Sony explains :
“Attach MESH Tags to or position on just about anything – doors, trash can, toys, closets, wall, etc. On the MESH Canvas app, just drag and drop, and draw a line to connect the Tags. There – that’s it. Simple, right?
By connecting various Internet services and applications to MESH platform, the possibilities of the new applications and “smart things” you’ll create are limitless. You will also be able to share your invention with the MESH global community.
MESH Canvas is an application with drag & drop-based intuitive user interface to make MESH Tags work. It will be available on iPad.”
